Teens to Raise Money to Go to Camps/Service Work

The youth group at Nichols St. church of Christ will be conducting a car wash on Saturday, May 14 to raise funds to send them to camp this summer.  The car wash will be from 1 to 5 pm in the South parking lot.  This will be a free service, however donations are gratefully accepted.

Each summer, the Nichols St. Youth Group (NSYG) attends camp in Oklahoma City ans Searcy, AR.  Both of these camps are intended for their spiritual group as well as connecting them with other teens who want to serve Christ from around the country.

NSYG will be going to Camp Genesis on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University the second week of June.  This camp has all the services of a normal camp (games, bible classes, worship times, etc…), but it is unique in that it allows the teens to also do various service activities throughout the city.  It’s goal is to teach the young people to serve as Jesus did, not merely talk about Him.

Uplift is at Harding university, and NSYG will be attending the last week of June.  This camp is much larger and is for Jr. High and Sr. High students.  The youth group has been travelling to Searcy annually for several years now.

If you have any questions about these events or how you can help, please contact Johnathan Dobbs at 245-1611 or via email at jddobbs@verizon.net.  And don’t forget to come get your car washed!!!
